Juli Sargatal started skydiving in Empuriabrava in the early 90s. After completing his academic career as a telecommunications engineer and with an MBA, he returned to Europe's leading skydiving center to assume the position of marketing director. And then some! As per his LinkedIn profile, Juli is also in charge of sales, communications, IT … and the coordination of aerial stunt and film location services. Not a dull moment ever in his job(s)!
Going from strength to strength together with Skydive Empuriabrava (SDE) in the past, he now faces the darker sides of management: total unpredictability combined with the lack of control over a pandemic that stands to impact business until vaccines are found. "This year we have already passed through two winters," Juli describes the regular low season at SDE that extended into the 100-day lockdown from March through June. "A third one would make things difficult for the company."
