Skydive Oman

Updated: Jan 14, 2020

One of the close to 140 summiteers registered for Indoor Skydiving 2020 | First Global Summit (ISGS) to date hails from Muscat, the capital of Oman. I admit I had to consult the database of our media partner Indoor Skydiving Source to ascertain whether a wind tunnel is operating in the sultanate or not. There isn't!

It is quite possible, however, that one will be built in the foreseeable future . There is at least one person who seems very keen to learn more about indoor skydiving through ISGS. This afternoon we received the message below from him/her.

We were able put his/her mind at ease, informing that all ten sessions - more than 14 hours in total - would be webcast LIVE on 2 and 3 February, and that after the conclusion of ISGS the recordings would be archived on two platforms.

I would like to thank the summiteer for bringing up the important point regarding the stream - and for letting us know that, unfortunately, in-person attendance will no longer be possible. With registration approaching the capacity limit, this could give someone else the chance to be physically present at ISGS.

The National Parachuting Team of the Sultan of Oman was training regularly at Skydive Empuriabrava in the late 1980s and early 1990s. I remember it well! Chris Francis of the United Kingdom was the coach at the time.

BTW: You should remember that registration for ISGS is mandatory and can be done right here! Do you need help with your hotel accommodations in Empuriabrava or Castelló d'Empúries? Just complete the online form and let us assist you with the arrangements.
